Vince DiFiore has been a member of the band Cake since 1991, and plays trumpet,[1] keyboard, and auxiliary percussion. Born to parents Vincent Robert DiFiore Sr. and Paula Beverly Winkler DiFiore in Torrance, California on December 17, 1963, Vince is the fourth of five children: Sisters Donna, Diane, and Denise, and older brother Dean.
Vince began playing trumpet at age 9 at Rancho Vista Elementary School. His first solo was "The Star-Spangled Banner" which he volunteered to perform for his fellow trumpet students in fourth grade. That year he performed "Fiddler on the Roof" unaccompanied for the school's talent show. The following year he played "Chicago" for the show. He went on to Dapplegray Intermediate school where he was recognized at commencement for his contribution to the school band. During this period Vince also attended Arrowbear Music Camp for four consecutive summers. During High School, Vince kept a consistent presence in both the St. Luke's Presbyterian church contemporary combo and brass choir. At Rolling Hills High School Vince was honored as Most Valuable Track and Field Athlete in 1982.
After graduating from UCLA with Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1986, and from California State University Sacramento with a Masters degree in Psychology in 1992, Vince committed himself to becoming a member of the band Cake. He is also a member of the Sacramento, California 1960s cover band known as "Animal House".
Vince is the father of three sons, Vincent, Carlo, and Luca. He is married to Gina Garcia, the director and founder of Yoga Across America.
